Does IoT Emergency Button work in poor connection areas?

Not every workplace has the same connectivity or working conditions. It is important to know how the button connects to the emergency service:

The IoT Emergency Button has its own LTE-M/NB-IoT cellular connection which is designed for superb connectivity even in places with poor or no 4G/ 5G coverage. This means the IoT solution can be particularly interesting when employees need a standalone safety device or when relying on a smartphone is not practical.

The IoT Emergency Button is designed to automatically find a suitable cellular connection. It first tries to connect to LTE-M. If LTE-M is not available, it tries NB-IoT instead. If the connection is unsuccessful, the device automatically retries several times and can reboot itself to attempt to reconnect.

The device therefore still depends on available LTE-M/NB-IoT coverage. It is important to consider the connectivity available at the locations where you intend to use the button.

This means that a weak or temporarily unavailable LTE-M connection does not immediately mean that the button cannot be used - the device can try another supported network technology and reconnect automatically. Depending on the local situation the device can also work on different networks. In the Netherlands for example the device will work on LTE-M network with three different operators (KPN, Vodafone, Odido) and on NB-IoT with two different operators (Vodafone, Odido). The connectivity is not restricted to a specific country and supports roaming. Please see this overview of countries where the devices have been tested and used.
