Unexplained changes to words in the Montr app

Some users notice that words in the Montr app are being changed without explanation.

This always happens to users working in the Microsoft Edge browser - and that is the cause. For example, the word "Arts" (Dutch for doctor) gets changed to "Art" for no apparent reason. The final PDF report then shows the correct words again, which makes it all the more confusing.

The explanation is simple, and the fix is easy. Edge has an auto-translate feature that is often enabled without the user noticing. It silently and randomly translates words on the page, which is what causes the issue.

To turn it off:

  1. In the top corner of the browser, select Settings and more > Settings.

  2. Select Languages.

  3. Turn off Offer to translate pages that aren't in a language I read.
