Managing multiple usernames and passwords can be time-consuming for both users and IT administrators. With Microsoft Integration, users can securely access the Montr Report X app using the same account users already use for work.
Montr can be integrated with your organisation's Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) to provide secure Single Sign-On (SSO) for reporters and company administrators.
This integration improves both security and operational awareness, while reducing the administrative effort required to manage user accounts.

Who is this feature for?
Single Sign-On is ideal for organisations that use Microsoft 365 / Active Directory to manage employee accounts and want to simplify access to Montr.
Users can sign in to both the Montr Report X App for reporters and the Report X CMS for administrators, using their existing Microsoft work account. There is no separate Montr password to remember, resulting in a smoother login experience and fewer password-related support requests.
For IT administrators, access is managed through the organisation's existing identity management policies. When an employee joins, changes roles or leaves the organisation, their access to Montr is automatically aligned with their Microsoft account, reducing manual administration and improving security.
This makes SSO especially valuable for organisations with many users or established identity management processes.
How does it work in daily practice?
Once the integration has been configured, users simply select "Sign in with Microsoft" when logging in. Authentication is handled through the organisation's existing Microsoft sign-in process.

How is the integration set up?
Setting up Microsoft Integration is straightforward and is typically completed together with your IT administrator. To enable the integration, your organisation will need to send your Microsoft Tenant ID and approve the Montr application within your Microsoft tenant and grant relevant permissions.

As a CMS administrator, you should also:
Make sure email addresses match - Sign-ins are matched to Report X accounts by email address. Each account email must be identical to their Microsoft work account email (their sign-in address). If some staff currently use a different address in the Report X system - for example a private one - update it in the CMS , or reach out to us to update it.
Request enforcing SSO-only sign-in - If you want to require Microsoft sign-in and disable password login entirely, we can enforce it for your organisation with a simple setting in CMS. From that moment, only Sign in with Microsoft works.
