Automatically open the Emergency Button app (iOS)

A helpful reminder at the start of the working week

Turning off your work phone during holidays and weekends is not a bad idea. But when turning it back on, we sometimes forget to open certain apps. You can fix this using your phone's built-in automations.

For example, you can set your phone to automatically open the emergency button app at a specific time each day (such as 09:00). The app will then log you in automatically and connect to the emergency button (as long as it is nearby). Very convenient - one less thing to think about.

How does it work?

Follow these steps to set up your iPhone to automatically open the Montr Emergency Button app every weekday morning. A great way to remind yourself or make sure everything is working correctly!

What you need:

  • An iPhone running iOS 14 or later

  • The Shortcuts app (installed by default β€” search for "Shortcuts")

  • The Emergency Button app must be installed

Steps:

  1. Open the Shortcuts app - this is a blue app with an icon showing colourful squares

  2. Go to the Automation tab at the bottom of the screen

  3. Tap Create Personal Automation

  4. Choose Time of Day - Set a time, for example 08:00 - Under Repeat, select Every Weekday (Monday to Friday) - Tap Next

  5. Tap Add Action

  6. Choose Apps and then Open App

  7. Tap Choose and select Emergency Button app

  8. Tap Next

  9. Turn off Ask Before Running - otherwise you will still need to tap it every morning

  10. Tap Done

All set!

From now on, your iPhone will automatically open the Emergency Button app every weekday morning.
Start each day fully prepared!
