How to use the app and emergency button

  1. When you go on a home visit, you preferably enter the home address.
    This is very straightforward.

Only the combination of postcode and house number is required.

This address is particularly important when you use the emergency button in high-rise buildings.
In addition to the entered address, the GPS location is always included with an emergency alert.
This gives the operator at the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) sufficient information for a fast and accurate response.

  2. If you find yourself in an unsafe situation, press the emergency button twice within two seconds.
You will then hear a beep.
This means the emergency alert has been successfully sent and is being handled by the ARC.

  3. The action protocol agreed upon with your organisation will then come into effect.
You will always be called back first by the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). Make sure the ARC number is saved in your contacts. If needed, you can request the number from the Montr helpdesk: helpdesk@montr.nl

  4. Pressing the emergency button is simple, and thanks to the design of the button, it can also be done quickly and easily by touch alone.

  5. It is important that you practise triggering an alarm on a regular basis.
This is important for building routine, familiarity with the emergency button and app, and confidence.

  6. That is why a test mode is built into the app.
Activate this 'test mode' and press the button twice within two seconds.
You will then see that the alarm has been successfully activated, but with one important note: without alerting the Alarm Receiving Centre!
The emergency button also does not emit a sound (this is to preserve battery life), but you will receive an email confirming a successful practice alarm.
