IoT emergency buttons now available

Standalone emergency buttons without an app

Montr now also offers standalone emergency buttons that do not need to be paired with an app.

These buttons can be deployed in locations with little or no mobile coverage. The advantage of these IoT emergency buttons is that they use newer telecommunications networks (Narrowband IoT and LTE-M1), giving them coverage in even the most challenging environments.

They are also used at fixed locations such as reception desks and meeting rooms. When the button is pressed, the relevant colleagues are immediately notified by SMS and phone call via the Montr system, while the alarm centre handles the alert simultaneously.

The devices are compact (4.5 x 3 cm) and simple to use. They only need to be charged for one hour every two weeks and are supplied with a three-year network contract. We use the KPN and Vodafone networks, giving coverage across virtually all of Europe.

These emergency buttons have been developed entirely in-house, include the latest security updates, and receive periodic firmware updates.

In terms of functionality, the IoT emergency button features assisted GPS and cell tower localisation, as well as fall detection.

The buttons can also be easily installed at temporary workplaces. Combined with the team alarm, pressing the button simultaneously alerts the alarm centre and notifies colleagues directly. The button is supplied with a handy clip so it can be attached anywhere.
