One of the most important factors in personal safety systems is battery reliability. If the emergency button’s battery runs out, it can’t send alerts - and that’s exactly what we want to prevent.
To help with that, users receive low battery warning in the emergency button app as well as through email. This ensures that they are informed before the battery becomes critically low, allowing them to take action in time.
Who is this feature for?
This feature benefits everyone who uses an emergency button, that values peace of mind - users won’t be caught off guard by a dead device. Instead, they get early notification when the battery level is low.
This feature supports operational readiness and preventive safety practice to avoid situations where a device can’t send an emergency signal. Users receive a clear reminder when the battery needs replacement, helping them develop good habits and avoid last-minute stress.
How does it work in daily practice?
The battery low warning is automatic, we monitor the battery level in the background.
In-App warning
When the emergency button’s battery drops below a certain threshold, a clear visual indicator appears in the emergency button’s overview screen, showing that the battery needs replacement. "Battery: Replace" status replaces the usual “Battery: OK” display, so users immediately know attention is required. This replacement does not have to be done immediately.
Email notification
Simultaneously to the battery status change, user receives email notification informing that the battery needs replacement. If the battery isn’t replaced after one week, a reminder email is sent to the same addresses.
Flashing button
On top of that, when the battery gets very close to being empty, the physical emergency button itself begins to blink with a red light continuously as a last-stage alert. This visual indication on the device signals that replacement should happen immediately.
Key points about the behavior of this feature in daily use:
Users will be alerted in the app before the battery is critically low - giving time to replace the battery.
A weekly email sequence is provided to ensure no user misses the warning - even if they haven’t checked the app.
Last-stage alert for critical battery level consists of continuous red light flashing on the emergency button.
Once the battery is replaced, the warning disappears and normal monitoring continues.
This proactive approach helps ensure the emergency button is always ready to perform when needed.
Replacing the battery is quick and straightforward, and once done, the warning disappears automatically. Find out how to do replace the battery in this article or below video:
