August is a holiday month at Montr too. With reduced staffing, the number of updates was limited - most of the work went into maintenance, small bug fixes, and optimisations.
Improved account lockout behaviour
Users who do not use SSO (Single Sign-On) will benefit from a change to how the app handles incorrect password attempts.
Previously, all failed login attempts were tracked cumulatively, and after the fifth failed attempt the account was locked for one hour. While account lockout is a recognised security measure to prevent brute-force attacks, this strict implementation has been relaxed without any impact on security.
What has changed: failed login attempts are now reset each time you successfully log in, so you start fresh after a successful login. In addition, the lockout period after five consecutive failed attempts has been reduced from one hour to five minutes.
Inspection completion notification
Administrators can now optionally receive an email notification when an adviser completes an inspection. This is a specific feature that will not be relevant for all organisations, but it is available for those who need it. To enable it, go to settings in the admin environment and select "Configure" next to "Notification on report completion".
From there, specify which administrators should receive an email when an inspection is completed:
As noted, a number of further bug fixes and codebase maintenance tasks have also been carried out.
