In many situations, the fastest help comes from colleagues who are nearby. With Team Alert, a single press of the emergency button can notify both the Alarm Response Centre and designated colleagues at the same time.
The feature can be expanded with Follow-up, which allows the team to automatically identify who is taking responsibility for the alarm and share that information with both colleagues and the alarm centre.
This feature is optional and can be enabled per organisation.
Who is this feature for?
This feature is especially valuable for organisations where employees work:
in consultation or meeting rooms,
at fixed office locations,
in shared buildings or municipal offices,
or in teams where colleagues can physically assist each other within minutes.
When an emergency alert is triggered the Alarm Response Center can be alerted immediately, so external emergency services can be contacted if needed, and at the same time colleagues are notified, allowing them to intervene much faster than waiting for police or other external responders.
This is particularly effective in situations such as:
a threatening conversation in a consultation room,
escalating behaviour at a reception desk,
or an incident elsewhere on your premises.
In addition with the Team Alert Follow-up functionality, next to the regular flow that all designated colleagues receive the alert, the first colleague who confirms the alarm becomes the responding colleague and the rest of the team is informed who is handling the situation. Thanks to that the whole team can be aware if the emergency was responded, making sure that emergency is not ignored. Of course the Alarm Response Center receives the same information, so they can contact the responding colleague directly if necessary. This prevents multiple colleagues from responding unnecessarily and makes coordination much clearer during stressful situations.
The feature works especially well together with fixed locations configured in the Backoffice app. These locations are entered there once and can then be selected quickly by users in Noodknop app. When an alert is triggered, both the alarm centre and colleagues are notified with a location.
How does it work in daily practice?
Team Alert is configured per department (group). Administrators can create departments in the Backoffice and assign users to the appropriate team.
Once Team Alert is enabled for a department, all users assigned to that department will automatically receive a Team Alert whenever a colleague from the same department triggers an emergency alarm. When an alarm is activated:
the ARC can be alerted simultaneously (depending on your organisation’s configuration),
all colleagues in the department receive a phone call informing them that a colleague needs assistance,
and they receive a SMS containing the location of the alarm and a GPS link.
If the Follow Up feature is enabled, then SMS contains also a link to pick up the alarm. The first colleague who opens the response link in the SMS is automatically marked as the responding colleague. This information is then shared with:
the other team members, so everyone knows who is handling the follow-up,
and the alarm centre, allowing them to contact the responding colleague directly if needed.
This creates a clear and coordinated response process without requiring additional actions from the employee who triggered the alarm.
